In addition to all BA00125 batteries, you are now able to update the battery firmware yourself with the Bafang BESST tool for the BA00130 battery produced in 2020 or later.
By this you no longer have to return the battery to QWIC. It enables you to update right away the battery firmware, also when a Battery Management System (BMS) update is needed.
The latest battery firmware update for BA00130 was recently released in September 2022 and will solve the following 2 problems:
- Battery does not charge to 100%.
- Battery fluctuates between 98% – 100% and keeps flashing when it is still connected to the charger and fully charged.
Important exception:
For a BA00130 battery with a production date of 2019 or earlier it’s not possible to update with the BESST tool since it will damage the software of that battery. This battery still needs to return to QWIC in case a firmware update is required.
In conclusion, the BESST tool battery update is available for:
- All BA00125 batteries
- BA00130 batteries produced in 2020 or later
